Outreach and Special Programs

The Northwest LA Community Tennis Association (NWLACTA NJTL Chapter) has collaboration and support from USTA Foundation, USTA Southern, Louisiana Tennis Association (LTA) and partners with Shreveport Parks, Assemblies, and Recreation (SPAR), City of Shreveport Hiring Program, Volunteers of America (VOA), LSU Students Medical Center Outreach, Caddo Parish School Board (CPSB), Shreveport Association of Ladies Tennis (SALT), Bossier Ladies Tennis (BLT), and other local organizations and the local Tennis Directors and public facilities.

It is the goal of our CTA to grow tennis for all ages, genders, abilities, and demographics within our community.  Currently we have programs for adaptive, under-resourced, and underserved youth within our city.  Our NWLACTA seeks partnerships and collaborative efforts with other local organizations that offer education components, bringing tennis and education together for the children.  In these schools and public park programs, tennis will be offered to children that otherwise may never have been exposed to this sport.  It is statistically proven that children that play tennis perform better in school and tennis also provides a healthy and safe exercise they can spend outside time enjoying.  The children will be able to learn the game socially and will be encouraged to continue the sport by joining other junior programs, junior team tennis leagues and sanctioned USTA play.
